And Then We Were Four

Alrighty... after a long hiatus, I am coming back into the blogging world. I am very blessed to be sharing the news of our newest addition, Kolbe Michael Reynolds. He was born August 28, 2011 weighing in at 7lbs. 11 oz. and measuring 20.25 in. Wow, we are a very blessed family.
In other news, I am thinking about giving up my profession in teaching. I went into this feild for all the right reasons. I wanted to make the world a better place. I wanted to help facilitate learning but, moreover, help encourage a love of learning and a love of reading in each of my students. Now, having to turn in assignments because I am a new teacher, paired with having to go back to school and spend money I don't have for a degree that I don't really want has hardened my love of teaching. I, unfortunately, do not have an extra $10, 000 to get my master's degree in the next seven years. I also decided to start my family (which is the most important thing in the world to me) so I do not have tons of time in my day to work on homework or go to class.
I am very tired of being judged as a teacher by test scores. I am not judged on the overall success of my students, their drive to learn, their compassion, or what goes on in my classroom. For this reason, I am bitter at my career, at the moment. I should have wanted to become a teacher to get high test scores for my students, huh?
Well, enough ranting for one day... Now, back to enjoying my sleeping son, Rocky, and my spitting up son, Kolbe, while Daddy sleeps to get ready for work tonight.
